What a dream! This was my first time doing photography in New York City and I loved it. We arrived early to avoid traffic but still had to dodge a few taxi’s and deal with drivers that honked. But man, what an incredibly photogenic family — and willing to run in and out of the street to get some fun shots. These were done near Lincoln Center and Central Park West. Just a few blocks from the Manhattan New York Temple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Oh, how I love Spring. After living in the tropics, with all the beautiful, ever-blooming flowers and trees, it was such a treat to come back to the states and experience our first Spring in four years. I’ve learned there’s a reason Jersey is called “The Garden State.” Wow. I grew up in the West, in the desert, and it can’t compare to the beautiful blossoms and greenery here.
Here’s a mix of some of my favorite portraits taken at the Chinese Gardens in the western part of the island. I love these gardens for the architecture, but it also has a lot of green spaces for a different background. Kids love the nearby turtle museum, too. And there’s an ice cream stand out front. Makes for a good bribe when it’s hot, ha ha. xx
It was a little bittersweet taking photographs for this family. Over the last 18 months, they have done so much for my family. We took these pictures just a few weeks before they headed back to America and on to their next assignment. These images were taken near the white gazebo and cactus garden and behind the National Orchid Garden. Enjoy!
I love photographing families in the Botanic Gardens. The scenery is amazing and there’s such a variety of backgrounds. Plus, it’s a great place for kids to run around. This family was so incredible to work with. Their kids loved the camera and were so natural. We shot these photographs around the performance amphitheater in the middle of the gardens.
